Police jawan shot dead two colleagues in Nagaland

Kohima, Nov. 23 (EMN): In a case of fratricide, a personnel of the special task force (STF) of Nagaland police shot dead two of his colleagues deputed at Lamhainamdi in Peren district, on Tuesday.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, Superintendent of Police (SP) Peren, Naieem Mustafa Mansury told Eastern Mirror that the incident occurred around 8:30 pm on November 22.

The perpetrator has been arrested and is under police custody, he said, adding that investigation is on.

An FIR was filed against the man, found to be Zenisie, and the victims have been identified as Lance Nail Zewangba Yimkhiung of STF and constable Kevisekho Khate of the 10th IRB, according to PTI.

Police sources said that the mortal remains of the deceased had been taken for post-mortem.

The motive of the crime was yet to be ascertained till the time of filing this report.

Repeated attempts made by this newspaper to contact the Commandant of 10th NAP (IR) went unanswered.
