Inter-ward men’s football and women’s volleyball league concluded in Pfütsero
KOHIMA — The closing ceremony of the second inter-ward men’s football and women’s volleyball league-cum-6th Lt. Neikhrope Ritse Trophy, was held on November 18 with president of Phek District Sports Association (PDSA), Nezosa Tetseo, as the valedictory guest.
The programme was organised by Pfütsero Town Youth Organisation (PTYO) at Pfütsero Sports Complex.
In his speech, the PDSA president said that to be a good sports person, the first requisite is discipline coupled with dedication.
Tetseo encouraged the players to have dreams and visions, to aim higher, have aspirations to play in bigger platforms and arenas and not limit themselves playing in their respective areas and district levels.
He challenged the sports persons to have a clear roadmap, hone their skills and capitalise on their talents with all seriousness, citing there is a huge scope in sports industry.
Asserting that the state government has also prioritised sports to tap the potential of the youth, he also maintained that the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) is also organising the state Olympic in few months’ time.
Tetseo also gave away the prizes to the winners. In football, PWD beat Menyitsuda 3-1 goals to lift the title, while in volleyball, Mission defeated Tese in three straight sets to lift the champions’ trophy.
