Diphu, June 30 (EMN): The 68 Bn. CRPF, Tinsukia won the single’s category and the 155 Bn.CRPF, Bokajan won the doubles category of the Inter- Bn. CRPF badminton tournament in the final which was played here at 20 Bn. Birla Plywood factory camp, Diphu on Friday. The tournament was organised by 20 Bn. Birla Plywood factory camp, Diphu of OPS Jorhat sector, CRPF which was held from June 28 to 30.
Altogether 14 teams from different battalions of Jorhat sector participated in the tournament. In the final of single category the 68 Bn. CRPF, Tinsukia Nagesh defeated 138 Bn.CRPF, Itanagar Atiba Aao by 21-17 and 21-12 points. While in doubles Bisujit Barman and Suresh Ch. Sahu of 155 Bn. CRPF, Bokajan defeated Nagesh and Rajbendra of 68 Bn. CRPF, Tinsukia by 21-18, 20-21 and 21-17 points.
The final match was witnessed by Anil Kumar, Commandant, 20 Bn. CRPF, Birla Plywood factory, Diphu. He also gave away the prizes to winners of both singles and doubles category.
