INR 40 lakh prize money up for grabs at ‘Ticket to Hornbill’
DIMAPUR — ‘Ticket to Hornbill—India’s Biggest Band Battle’, presented by Shreyas Group, the curtain raiser to the 25th edition of the Hornbill Music Festival, will take place from October 18 to the 21st at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, according to Theja Meru, chairman of the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA).
The live performance rounds will take place on October 18 and 19, where 30 shortlisted bands will compete, according to an update. Of these, seven selected bands will perform in the grand finale on October 21.
The live performance rounds will be judged by Arpito Gope, Moanungsang, and Viveick Rajagopalan, while the jury for the grand finale will include Subir Malik, Sonam Kalra, Arpito Gope, Suraj Mani, and Moanungsang.
A total prize money of INR 40 lakh has been set for this, with the first prize at INR 20 lakh, the second prize at INR 10 lakh, and INR 5 lakh for the third prize. Musical equipment worth INR 5 lakh will also be awarded as individual prizes.

Coca-Cola will be the official beverage partner, and Sennheiser will be the audio partner. The live rounds on October 18 and 19 will start at 12 noon daily, and entry to the venue is free.
For the grand finale on October 21, an entry fee of INR 50 will be charged per ticket that can be purchased at the venue.
Except for official vehicles with passes, all other vehicles must be parked at the Kohima Science College ground. For vehicle security and traffic regulation, the organisers have outsourced this task to the Phezhu Youth Organisation, Jotsoma. A service charge of INR 20 will be applied per vehicle.
No food items, alcohol, weapons, sharp objects, knives, sticks, rods, or laser lights will be allowed into the concert venue on any day. Individuals and bags may be checked at the gates.
