Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): Inner Wheel Club (IWC), Dimapur, held its 8th installation ceremony at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur, on Tuesday. The new club president Mamta Bucha and the secretary Nidhi Modi were installed by installation officer Chandu Agarwal.
The deputy commissioner of police (Traffic), Dimapur, Jatila Jamir was the chief guest, while Rashmi Agarwal was the guest of honour.
Speaking at the programme, the outgoing club president, Sanjukta Bhattarcharjee, expressed her gratitude to all the members for their consistent support during her tenure and affirmed to continue undertaking social work in the days to come. Commenting that 2020 was not an easy year, she stated that club members could make it possible to tide over several difficulties.
The new president, Bucha, assured to do her best in fulfilling the challenges ahead.
During the programme, the club under the project on healthcare donated a wheelchair to an elderly woman of 89 years old. The club also provided scholarship to a girl student under the project on education. The club further felicitated five women entrepreneurs.
District awards and president’s awards were also given out to the club members. On the occasion, the new and outgoing office bearers were introduced and felicitated.
