Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): The Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Dimapur held its 10th installation ceremony at the Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur, on July 10.
The club has installed Nidhi Modi as its new president and Ritu Sethi as the new secretary for the tenure 2023-24.
Speaking at the installation programme, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, who was also the chief guest, has highlighted the importance of collaboration between the NGOs and government bodies to uplift the society.
He stated that NGOs could play a key role in waste management especifically in spreading awareness about segregating waste and avoiding single-use plastics.
He has further assured necessary assistance towards the club in their endeavours.
The outgoing president, Anamika Saha, has expressed gratitude for the unwavering support she received from the members throughout her term.
The secretarial report for 2022-23 was presented by the outgoing secretary, Shobha Jain.
On the occasion, the newly installed office bearers were introduced and administered oath by installation officer, Chandu Agarwal.
The club has honoured successful women from various fields and also awarded meritorious students of Class 10 and 12 from Rotary and Inner Wheel Club.
Under a project aimed at rehabilitating the disabled, a visually impaired girl namely Labina from GHS Lingrijan, who passed the HSLC exam, was felicitated with cash and gifts.
