Kohima, Sep. 24 (EMN): NSCN (IM) has said that the way forward for the Indo-Naga political talk has been finally set in motion with the appointment of Akshaya Kumar Mishra as the new interlocutor.
“It is needless to say that the government of India’s representative Mishra has now been given enormous task to pick up the loose end of the Indo-Naga political talks messed up by his predecessor,” NSCN (IM) claimed in its news bulletin Nagalim Voice.
“Significantly, the way forward has to be taken care of very cautiously keeping in mind the sentiments of the Naga people with a strong attachment to their political identity symbolise by the Naga national flag and constitution (Yehzabo),” it added.
The NSCN-IM added that it was pertinent to remind Mishra that the former interlocutor RN Ravi “paved his own exit” from the Indo-Naga political talk on account of his “irresponsible behaviour and disrespect” to the NSCN talk team.
It went on to allege that Ravi’s tone did not give a damn about how he muddied such a high profile Indo-Naga political talk by his “intemperate outburst. Naturally, the inevitable consequences ensued.”
“For too long, the formal Indo-Naga political talk has been stalled on account of NSCN’s irreconcilable relation with Ravi,” it further alleged.
According to the NSCN, Ravi proved himself to be “insensitive with his pretentious nonsense”. It added that NSCN was able to foresee the “destructive elements in him and naturally he was disowned like a hot brick!”.
“During the course of Indo-Naga political talk, Ravi exhibited undesirable and dominant trait which exposed that he does not have the right temperament for the challenging job as an interlocutor. He was not only arrogant but also a bigoted advocate who would not restrain himself to abuse the historical and political rights of the Naga people, and thereby distinguished himself as an irreconciliable opponent of NSCN and Naga people,” it alleged.
The group further alleged that “Ravi gained notoriety for his closeness with a bunch of ‘yes-men’ Naga civil society groups” but visibly undermined the apex bodies like the Naga Hoho, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) and Global Naga Forum (GNF) that have the temerity to question and tell him (Ravi) the truth and the way forward in accordance with the Naga people’s aspirations. Naturally, he earned the ire of the Naga people for his divisive approach, it claimed.
