Indo-Myanmar regional border committee meet concludes

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 20: The 9th Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet between India and Myanmar, which was conducted during October 18-21 at Imphal in Manipur, has concluded.
The event was organized under the aegis of the Spear Corps of Indian Army. A 19-member delegation from Myanmar, consisting of officials of the army and civil departments attended the meeting.
The Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet is a bi annual landmark event which provides opportunities for representatives of Security Forces and Civil establishment of both the Nations to discuss and resolve crucial issues relating to border management, bi-lateral cooperation and terrorism.
The forum is a platform for the delegates to brainstorm various issues and exchange information, thereby further strengthening the bond between both the countries.
The Indian delegation was headed by Major General SS Mishra, VSM, GOC.
The Red Shield Division and the Myanmar delegation were headed by Brig Gen Thet Pon, Commander of the North West Command.
The officials were accompanied by other civil and military officials of their respective countries. ‘Such initiatives provide a vital fillip to strengthen the historic relationship between the two neighbours,’ a media handout from the organizers on Thursday stated.
