DIMAPUR — The Indian Army recovered a cache of arms and ammunitions from Bongbal Khullen in Imphal East district of Manipur, in joint operation with the Assam Rifles on Friday.
In the operation, which was launched after receiving specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition, an AK-56 rifle, one mortar, one improvised mortar bomb, one pompi gun, two improvised explosive devices, five hand grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered.
This was updated by the PRO and Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence. It added that the captured items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal.
AR conducts medical camp
In another update, the Assam riffles informed that it conducted a medical camp at Tribal Market
Complex, Nungba, Noney in Manipur, on Friday in co-ordination with Primary Health Centre (PHC) Nungba, to address health issues of the general public amid the change in weather and monsoon rains.
A total of 350 people, including 200 women and children from remote villages of Kekru Naga, Rengpang, Merrylane and Rongdai attended the medical camp, said the update.
