Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): Spear Corps of the Indian army successfully conducted the equine training course for veterinary interns of College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CVSAH), Jalukie, at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, from November 14 to the 19th under operation Sadbhavna.
It stated that a total of 26 veterinary internship students of the college were trained on finer aspects of equine medicine, surgery and management by Army Veterinary Hospital at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, stated an update from the college.
It stated that such projects of Indian army are aimed at transferring the inherent knowledge and skill sets available with the army to benefit the students and people of the state.
At the valedictory programme, the station commander of Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, has appreciated the efforts of Army Veterinary Hospital in augmenting the therapeutic and diagnostic skills of budding veterinarians. He was convinced that the course would serve to strengthen the bond between Indian army and the youth of Northeast.
He also presented certificates and equine training manuals to all the trainees.
Meanwhile, Dr. I Shakuntala, dean of College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, has lauded the efforts of the Indian army in undertaking such projects, which provided specialised knowledge transfer. She emphasised that such projects have a very positive impact on animal welfare in the state and requested Indian army to conduct more of such specialised technical courses in near future.
Report also stated that the officer commanding Army Veterinary Hospital has emphasised on invaluable understanding of equine management and treatment, which would enable young veterinarians to cope up with future challenges.
He further congratulated the interns on completion of course and also appreciated the whole hearted efforts of the team of Army Veterinary Hospital at Rangapahar Military Station.
