Imnainla Jamir named global ambassador of MasterPeace COOLeaders
DIMAPUR — Popular female guitarist from Nagaland, Imnainla Jamir, has been named as the global ambassador of MasterPeace COOLeaders, an NGO based in Netherlands, that works towards making the planet better a place to live in by empowering dialogue, facilitating co-creation and creating perspectives.
Masterpeace Global is present in more than 70 countries through its licensed clubs.
The programme was launched by Advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland Abu Metha at Zone Niathu, Chümoukedima on Wednesday.
Sharing about the NGO, Sudipta Dawn, founder and changemaker at cultural monks leading the Masterpeace COOLeaders programme, said that MasterPeace COOLeaders, is a global initiative for climate action and leadership, that works in collaboration with global network of clubs and partners by reaching out to the grassroots.
In the process, he stated, that they are connecting people worldwide to come together and solve the urgent problem that the planet is facing.
He shared that they came to know of Imnainla Jamir after her iconic rendition of the Indian national anthem at the Hornbill Festival in 2022, and hopes that Jamir in her journey as a COOLeader ambassador will bear a major impact on climate action and leadership around the world and also help her grow as an artiste.
He cited that they have been working closely with TaFMA for the past few years and through them he reached out to Jamir.
He informed that through this process, Jamir will be connecting to various artistes and institutions from around the world.
Abu Metha speaking during the launching programme thanked the leaders of Masterpeace COOLeaders for trusting and partnering with the Naga musician. He cited that for Nagaland it is tough to network with corporate organisation and global bodies but TaFMA have always worked hard to maximise their reach.
Metha expressed that, Jamir becoming the ambassador, is an achievement for the people of Nagaland. He encouraged young people to be inspired by her and support her.
Imnainla Jamir thanked TaFMA for their support and expressed her zeal to doing projects towards building a better and healthier earth.
