Immanuel College students, faculty donate blood

DIMAPUR — The Red Ribbon Club of Immanuel College, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Blood Bank, Dimapur, organised a blood donation drive on the theme ‘Selfless blood donors are concealed gems’ at the college campus on Saturday.

According to an update from the college, the donation drive drew enthusiastic response from both the students and faculty members wherein 54 units of blood were mobilised.

Resource person Dr. Temsu Ao, blood transfusion expert at District Hospital, Mon, who spoke on the topic ‘Life saver: empowering communities through blood donation,’ emphasised the life-saving importance of donating blood and its impact on society.

He also highlighted the vital role of blood donors in maintaining healthcare systems and saving lives during emergencies. “Blood donors are indeed life-savers. It is through such selfless acts that we can truly make a difference in the lives of those in need,” he said.

The programmed started with a welcome address and activities about the Red Ribbon Club from Ngipsho M Konyak, nodal officer of RRC, while S Temsusenla Ao, head of the Department of Economics, proposed vote of thanks.

“The blood donation drive not only contributed to the essential blood supply at the Dimapur Blood Bank but also encouraged the college community to actively participate in future healthcare initiatives,” it added.
