Immanuel College organises programme on NEP 2020

DIMAPUR: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Immanuel College, Dimapur, organised a one-day faculty and development programme on NEP 2020′ at the college conference hall, on Monday.

Principal, Livingstone Foundation International College, Dr. RK Behera, the resource speaker of the programme, briefed on the skeleton structure of the New Educational Policy, 2020, formulated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, an update stated.

Under the NEP, multidisciplinary system will be made mandatory in every institution, Behera said.

He also highlighted some of the major modifications such as a four years degree programme, academic bank of credit, incubation centres, international development plan, MOU with foreign countries, student-teacher ratio, cluster of college, professional practice, etc.

The resource person also mentioned that the International Accreditation Organisation will replace NAAC assessment and that every college will become autonomous with no affiliation to universities.

Behera further shared the various challenges that need to be carried out with proper plan and preparation.

The programme was chaired by Nengpilhing, coordinator of IQAC, Immanuel College. Earlier, Lanusangla Imsong, assistant professor, Department of Zoology, pronounced the invocation, followed by a welcome note from the principal, Immanuel College, Th Sharatchandra Singh.
