Dimapur — Research and Journal Committee of Immanuel College organised a “Professional development programme on research methodology and research writing” for the faculty members of the college on March 30 at the college conference hall.
The objective of the programme was to help the faculty members gain in-depth knowledge about research methodology and research writing, which has become necessary for those who are a part of higher education, stated an update from the college.
Resource person and assistant professor of Economics at St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, Dr. Patrick Praveen Dukpa, has highlighted on the importance of research and the proper ways and means to go about. He stated that research should be taken up as a challenge and not just for the sake of title. According to him, research should always be systematic, logical, unbiased and a verifiable process.
He also emphasised on the importance of reading and reviewing extensively as an important tool for research writing. The sessions concluded with a light exercise by the resource person where every department were given the challenge to think of one topic of research and the objectives of the given topic within five minutes which proved to be a highly beneficial exercise for the members attending the programme.
