IGT 10: Mahila Band’s performance leaves Badshah speechless

DIMAPUR — Nagaland’s famous eight-member IRB Mahila Band of the 15th NAP received a golden buzzer from rapper, singer and songwriter Badshah after their audition on India’s Got Talent Season 10, automatically getting into the semi-finals after their performance “Sinbad the sailor” from the movie Rock On.

The audition was broadcast on Saturday (July 29) on Sony Entertainment Television.

Judge Badshah who stood the whole time the Mahila Band performed the song “Sinbad the sailor” with a touch of Naga folk tune, pressed the golden buzzer right after their performance and was left teary-eyed and speechless while cheering their performance as “pure and sacred.”

“Those who make music desire for the moment to hear good and beautiful music and it happens only once. The moment was beautiful, sacred and pure. What camaraderie and that comes from the discipline of the forces,” he said.  Judge Kirron Kher commented on Badhah’s golden buzzer as “The correct golden buzzer.” Shilpa Shetty Kundra saluted the talent of the Mahila Band and commented, “Whenever a woman decides to do something, she goes all out to achieve whatever she desires and creates an effect and they (women) are unstoppable”.
