ICFAI’s youth festival begins with novelty sessions

Dimapur, Sep. 26: Promoting platforms for schools and colleges to interact with one another, ICFAI University inaugurated a two-day youth festival, an academic and entertainment festival, on September 26 in Dimapur.

The programme was conducted in the university’s auditorium with the objective to motivate and inspire students through various activities.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, the additional deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Lovitoly Sema, urged the students to walk out of their comfort zones and to start working toward their dreams.

“I want you to have an educational vision so that after completing the course, you’d know exactly what to pursue next,” Sema said. She advised the students to believe in themselves and urged them to strive to overcome obstacles and difficulties in life.

“You are in the process of discovering yourselves and in this stage that you will go through a lot of difficulties. But always remember that success does not come easily. Only those who strive for it gets it,” Sema said.

Emphasising strongly on quality education, she advised the students to involve in college activities so that they would learn and experience new things.

The competitions of the first day included painting, a penalty shootout for boys, volleyball for girls, mobile games, fitness, product marketing and stand-up comedy. Eight other schools and colleges from Dimapur participated at the festival.

Smart pageant
The Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (BASN) in collaboration with ICFAI University conducted a session named the ‘smart pageant seminar’ during the ongoing IUN Youth Festival on September 26 in Dimapur.

BASN has been organising Miss Nagaland since 1991.

The coordinator of the BASN, Lipokzulu, highlighted objectives and visions of the organisation. Lipokzulu said that the seminar was intended to promote appreciation for beauty and to develop and uphold the art that goes into it.

Fbb Femina Miss India Nagaland 2019 Marina Kiho spoke about her recent achievement in winning Cox and Kings Miss Getaway 2019, besides her experiences from participating at national pageants.

“I want you to identify your passion so that you know where to fit in,” Kiho said during her addressing the students at the festival.

Fbb Femina Miss India Nagaland 2018 Ruopfuzhano Whiso also spoke at the event. She gave tips and insights to pageant aspirants.

Fbb Femina Miss India Nagaland 2017 Kaheli Chophy took the students on a thrill as she presented a practical session on professional ramp walking and posing for the lens to which she invited ten girls from the crowd to share in the walk.

Following the session, BASN also conducted a screening test at the university’s campus. Miss Nagaland 2018 Mewetshou Dianu was the special guest judge for it.

The screening test that was conducted for the upcoming Miss Nagaland 2019 event was part of auditions to it.
