Ibobi using muscle power against Nagas in Imphal: NSCN-IM

Dimapur, October 27 : The NSCN-IM has accused Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh of exercising his ‘muscle power’ by harassing innocent Naga people residing in Imphal town through raids and arrests without any reason after the humiliation and failure of his recent venture to Ukhrul due to non-cooperation by the public for his “anti-Naga policies”.

In a release issued by its MIP on Thursday, the NSCN-IM expressed surprise that under false allegation, Phaningkhui Kapai, son of late Shangreikan of Paoyi village under Ukhrul district, was arrested by Imphal West Police commandos from Bethany Hotel, Deulaland Imphal on October 25 labeling him as NSCN member and working for kilo kilonser (home minister) Ahao Raising. The release clarified that Phaningkhui is neither a member of the NSCN/GPRN nor working for the kilo kilonser at all.
The NSCN-IM also disowned such allegations which it said are aimed at tarnishing the good image of the kilo kilonser.

It demanded that Ibobi stop his “communal attitude” towards the Nagas and release all the arrested innocent public immediately.
