‘I was physically abused by someone from industry’

Over the last few years, Kangana Ranaut has made headlines with her brave and bold statements while interacting with the media. This has also ensured that she has won many a hearts among the audience. But her recent revelation has left many stunned.
Recently, Kangana did the honors during the launch of veteran journalist Barkha Dutt’s book, ‘The Unquiet Land’. At the event, while talking to the media, Kangana said that she was once physically abused by a man. But she refused to go into details. “It was a very difficult and very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go to details,” she said, also adding that the abuser was a person from the film industry. But after some prodding from Barkha, the actress did divulge some details. “This man who was my father’s age hit me hard on my head when I was 17. I started bleeding. I took out my sandal and hit his head hard and he started to bleed too. I lodged an FIR against the man.”
Kangana also added, “I felt trapped. You feel people might help you. But there are no free lunches. But when you are going you fall for it.”
