Hornbill Naga Wrestling Championship: Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, Rakhoveio Lümai emerge champions

Kohima, Dec. 3 (EMN): Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü of Kohima retained his championship title after defeating Venüzo Dawhuo of Phek district at the final of the 15th International Hornbill Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 (professional category) on Saturday at the amphitheatre in Kisama.
Pineyü, who came from a point deficit, dropped Dawhuo twice to become the champion for the second time.
Rukukhoto Khesoh defeated Vemele Thingo to clinch the third position title. Both the third and fourth position holders are from Phek district.
Rakhoveio Lümai from Manipur took down Sentilong Imchen from Mokokchung (Nagaland) twice to emerge as the champion in the amateur category.
Lao Thekho from Manipur beat Limasunep Imchen of Mokokchung to win the third position.
In the professional category, the champion took home INR 1, 20, 000 while the runner-up received INR 80,000.
The third and fourth position holders won INR 40,000 and INR 20,000 respectively.
In the amateur event, the winner received INR 30,000 while the runner-up pocketed INR 10,000.
The third and fourth position title lifters won INR 10,000 and INR 5,000 respectively.
The Naga wrestling event also saw participants coming from as far as Bihar and Kerala and countries such as Nepal and the United Kingdom.
