DIMAPUR — Wokha division of Health department conducted a training on U-Win for vaccinators, nurses and community health officers for five blocks under Wokha district in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, on Wednesday.

Speaking at the training session, Dr. Thungchangpeni Patton, mentioned that U-Win is a portal launched by the government of India under universal immunisation programme to record vaccination status of beneficiaries. He informed that U-Win would facilitate to track the vaccination record of pregnant women, newborn and updating of vaccination status digitally in real time from the previous service delivery record.

“The unique feature of U-Win is that beneficiaries can be vaccinated anywhere in India using U-Win identity number,” she said. Dr. Patton further expressed hope that the training on U-Win would enable the healthcare workers to authenticate beneficiaries once they are trained to register on the U-Win portal.

An update from CMO office stated that the resource person, T Chumdemo Kikon, UNDP vaccine and cold chain manager, Wokha, took a session on self-registration process, administrator module, vaccinator module, delivery point module and mobiliser module. He was assisted by the block programme managers of national health mission (NHM), Wokha, during the practical demonstration of self registration and data entry process.

In a separate programme, a three-day training of trainers on U-Win got underway in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, on Wednesday.

The welcome address and introduction to U-Win portal was delivered by Dr. Takosunep, DPO (UIP/RCH), while the CMO of Mokokchung, Dr. Kibangkumba, has encouraged all the participants to be attentive in order to make the implementation programme a success in the district.

Dr. Imkongtemsu Longchar, state immunisation officer from the directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, mentioned that U-Win is a continuation of Co-Win, which was used during the COVID-19 pandemic. He explained that U-Win app is a platform to register and vaccinate any pregnant woman, record delivery outcome, register every new born delivery, administer the first dose and all vaccination events. He added that the system would allow planning of vaccination sessions, updating of vaccination status digitally on real-time basis from the last mile of service delivery by the vaccination, recording and reporting of all data for the UIP.

Report stated that the participants would be trained on U-Win portal as well as on self-registration module, delivery point module, vaccinator module and on real-time registration on U-Win live portal.

The resource persons of the three-day training included Dr. Imkongtemsu Longchar, SIO; Sentirenla, consultant of NUHM; Achila, VCCM; and Tongpang, BPM.

The participants included GNM, pharmacists, vaccinators, CHO, ANM, LHV, BPM and FA.
