The department of New and Renewable Energy certainly deserves appreciation and accolades from one and all for robbing in multinational company like Philips for installing and commissioning Solar Street lights in Zubza and parts of Kohima district. Brand Philips needs no introduction as it is a household name to all and the department of NRE has maintained the standard of quality control by introducing Philips in Nagaland. There are many other companies who can provide solar street lights but the question of quality matters in the long run when branded materials are provided.
I happened to go down to Dimapur oneday at night for emergency purpose and as I crossed Zubza area, the street lights caught my attention as the shine of the lighht was very bright and i thought to myself that it might be a high quality light. Later on i learnt that it was Philips Company and i was convinced that branded company is in no way comparable. I have also come across some solar street lights in parts of Kohima town but i noticed that the shine is not so bright as that of Philips company. Many a times inferior companies are opted because of the fact that profit margin is bigger and the companies and departments workd out multiplication, division or substraction for higher profit sharing at the cost of development. The Department of NRE under the leadership of Parliamentary Secretary Khriehu and Director NRE T.S.Angami has set a commendable example by robbing in companies of multi-national brand. We know trht such big companies streamlined their rates and thus less room for manipulation.
Hats off to you and hope that the whole of Nagaland shine and illuminate with branded street lights through the department of NRE.
