Hardcore criminal held in Dimapur

A most wanted hardcore criminal was nabbed by the Special Operations Team of Dimapur Police on May 21. The accused identified as Athing alias Lolem alias Loliam Letey Lowang (33), son of late Phawang Latey Lowang, of Borduria village under Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh was arrested from 4th Mile area near CIHSR, Dimapur.
He has been on the run since June 2011 after kidnapping and murdering a woman whose body was recovered from Chathe river near CIHSR on June 3, 2011. He is also an accused in the attempted murder of one S Athili Mao on the night of June 2, 2011 at a hotel in Elora Lane, Dimapur.
The accused has admitted his involvement in the commission of both the cases of murder and attempted murder which were registered under East police station Dimapur for investigation. The accused is also wanted in a number of serious cases in Khonsa police station, Arunachal Pradesh including kidnapping for ransom, extortion, criminal intimidation, robbery, Arms Act, jail break etc.
He is under police remand and investigation into his involvement in other similar cases is being probed, ASP/PRO, Dimapur said in a release today.
