Dimapur, August 31(EMN) : The Zeliangrong Heraka Youth Organisation Dimapur (ZHYOD) in coordination with Janjati Vikas Samiti Nagaland (JVSN), observed the 86th Haipou Jadonang Martyrdom Day at JVSN Complex, Signal Angami Bosti in Dimapur on August 29.
President Zeme Council Northeast India, Raitu Elu grace the occasion as chief guest and Hurui Zeliang, patron ZHA as guest speaker.
Hurui briefed the life history of Haipou Jadonang and his extra-ordinary power. He also advised youths to value the struggle and sacrifice of the great freedom fighter and also encouraged them to learn the rich culture and tradition of Nagas.
Elu in his speech said that Jadonang was a social and political leader who fought against British Empire to free from force labour, land tax and to free from alien empire. He also appealed the youths not to differentiate him because of his religion as he fight for his people (Nagas), for free nation and not for any particular religion. He further urged them to take social responsibility and be a role model of the young generation.
Presidential address was delivered Huzantadbo Meriam, president ZHYOD.
