Guwahati–Bikaner Express train starts running with LHB coaches
DIMAPUR — In a bid to further enhance the safety and comfort of passengers, the coaches of train no. 15634/15633 (Guwahati–Bikaner Jn.–Guwahati) weekly express has been converted into modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches, equipped with the-state-of-art features.
An update from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) informed that Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Transport, Excise & Fisheries, govt. of Assam flagged off the train with LHB rake from Guwahati Railway Station on September 30.
The newly converted LHB with train no train 15634 will depart from Guwahati every Saturday at 10:40 am while train no. 15633 will depart from Bikaner Jn. every Wednesday w.e.f October 4 at 10:40 am.
Covering a distance of 2328 km in 43 hours, the journeys will enroute via Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon Jn, New Alipurduar Jn, New Jalpaiguri Jn, Katihar Jn, Mokama, Kanpur Central, Agra fort, Jaipur Jn, Degana Jn and Merta road.
The train will consist of 22 LHB design coaches including 1 AC 2 tier, 5 AC 3 tier, 12 sleeper, 1 second class and 1 pantry car apart from 2 power cars.
It may be mentioned that, LHB coaches have the advantages of being more spacious and comfortable with augmented passenger amenities for a hassle-free journey from safety point of view.
The Hydraulic shock absorber and improved suspension system of LHB coaches ensures greater riding comfort for the passengers compared to conventional rakes, the update further informed.
All LHB coaches are said to be equipped with a Controlled Discharge Bathroom System and Bio-toilets, which are environmentally friendly as compared to ICF coaches.
