DIMAPUR — GPRN/NSCN (Unification), led by Gen. (retired) MB Neokpao Konyak, President and Alezo Venuh, Ato Kilonser, has warned those collecting tax in the name of Unification of severe consequences.

In a press statement, it said that following the change of leadership on April 21, 2024, the GPRN/NSCN, as a mature government, has handled the situation responsibly despite several provocations so as not to upset the peace and tranquility of the Naga homeland.

It maintained, however, that “the impeached and expelled imposters have taken advantage” of their silence and that there is a limit to how much they can tolerate.

“The GPRN/NSCN, being the people’s government, has remained silent thus far in compliance with the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) resolution, which was widely published in print and electronic media on 6th June, 2024,” it stated.

It mentioned that when GPRN/NSCN opened an investigation through the UT chairman and summoned those involved in tax collection under the guise of Unification, one Tovishe Shohe came to the residence of the UT Chairman, Hekiye Zhimomi, on June 14 and served an order purportedly from Unification warning and asking him to specify the reason for his action within two days.

“GPRN/NSCN completely rejects the directive served to the UT Chairman and clarifies that it will continue to root out imposters,” it read.
