July 30 (PTI): Two Indians, including medal prospect Vikas Gowda, made it to the final rounds while Tintu Luka qualified for the semifinals of the athletics competitions at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Discus thrower Gowda just made a single attempt, clearing the distance of 64.32m to top the qualification round at the Hampden Park here. He did not take any further throw as he was way ahead of second-placed Apostolos Parellis (61.91m) from Cyprus and Jamaica’s Chad Wright (61.08m).

Sahana Kumari qualified for the final of the women’s high jump after finishing seventh in the qualifying round with an effort of 1.81m.

Tintu Luka made it to the women’s 800m semifinals after finishing fourth in heat number 3 with a timing of 2:02.74.
