Dimapur, June 5 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam extended Phom Day greetings to the Phom community on Sunday.
The governor stated that the landmark in Phom history ‘reminds us of the commitment of the people to shun violence’.
“The declaration of 6th June as Phom day (Peace day) marks the importance that the land is flourishing based on the spirit of universal brotherhood. Peace, forgiveness and unity are the essence of this significant day and most importantly, our Youth should continue to honour the commitment of non-violence made by our pioneering leaders,” it read.
He further wished good health, happiness and prosperity on this auspicious occasion.
