Dimapur, July 7 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday extended Tuluni greetings to the Sumi community.
The governor said that Tuluni is celebrated to welcome the bountiful season of the year, and it is a time to ‘re-strengthen’ family and social bonds and to celebrate new relationships.
“May Tuluni festival remind us of our ancestors who found strength in one another, in good and bad times. I hope the Sumi youths will come together as a community and continue to unite and build the Nagas to overcome the challenges,” the message read.
Mukhi further wished all the people good health, happiness and prosperity.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended greetings to the Sumi community on the occasion of Tuluni festival.
‘It is celebrated to welcome the arrival of new crops from the field. May our thanksgiving prayers to the Almighty for the abundant yield be accepted and the festivities strengthen bonds,’ Rio shared.
