Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi greeted the Ao community on the occasion of Moatsü festival.
He said Moatsu is a celebration after seeds have been sown in the fields. It is a period of recreation after the strenuous activities of clearing fields, burning jungles, sowing seeds, cleaning up the wells and, repair and construction of houses.
“This beautiful festival is marked by vigorous songs, dances, feast and merrymaking, It is also a time to celebrate the strong community bonding and carry on the centuries old traditional legacy,” the message read.
Further, the Governor wished good health, peace and happy celebrations.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended Moatsu greetings to the Ao community.
“May God Almighty’s blessings of good health and happiness be upon every household and the festivities strengthen bonds of friendship and love,” he shared.
