Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended Ahuna greetings to the Sumi community and to the people of Nagaland.
Mukhi shared that Ahuna is celebrated in “purity of body and mind, and in gratitude for a bountiful harvest. I believe that the festive spirit of oneness and bonding would restore our faith and lead us towards peace and progress”.
He said Ahuna celebrations should make the younger generation more aware of the Sumi’s “ancient rich history, philosophy of life and culture, and to foster friendship and unity among the community”.
“On this very significant occasion, I wish you all happiness and good health,” the governor conveyed.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also conveyed Ahuna greetings to the Sumi community.
