Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): The annual sports meet of Government Middle School, Botsa got underway with Kevizenuo Savino, SDEO Chiephobozou as the special guest at Botsa local ground, Kohima.
Addressing the three-day meet, she highlighted the importance of games and sports and stated that education is an all-round development, a press release informed.
She encouraged the students to actively participate in the sports activities as it helps to enhance their mental and physical abilities and prepares them to face life’s challenges, while appreciating the teachers for their efforts in organising such events for the welfare of the students.
Class A and B gave a special presentation, while Seyievinuo and Neisinuo of Class 8 presented a special song. The programme also witnessed a remarkable physical exercise drill presented by the students of Class 1 to 8.
Ruovilie Zumu led the oath taking, while Viletuo-ü Sanchu proposed the vote of thanks.
School Management Committee Chairman, Kechangulie Kense along with the other members attended the inaugural programme.
It may be mentioned that Naga wrestling is also one of the disciplines of the annual sports meet.
