DIMAPUR — The state-level Annual Science Drama Competition (ASDC) was held at Innovation Hub-Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur, on Friday on the theme “Science & Technology for the benefit of mankind.”
An update from department of Science and Technology informed that the first prize of the Nagaland ASDC-2024 was won by PM SHRI Government High School, Thahekhu, while the second and third positions were won by Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, and Riverbelt School (Nagarjan), Dimapur, respectively.
It stated that Anitoka S Holo of Rincho Academy was declared the best actor, while Mana S Sharma of PM SHRI GHS, Thahekhu, was declared the best actress and Kekhriesatuo Akashe Z Yhome was declared the best director as well as best scrip writer.
The event was attended by Bendang Walling, a prominent theatre practitioner and filmmaker and alumni of National School of Drama, New Delhi, as the chief judge.
It mentioned that Science Drama Competition is an annual event, which is organised across the country with a primary aim to showcase juvenile artistic creativity and to use the medium of drama as a potent tool for dealing with socio-scientific issues of current importance in the society.
It informed that PM SHRI GHS, Thahekhu, would represent Nagaland at the zonal level (Northeast Zone Science Drama Competition), which will be held on November 14 at the National Science Centre, Guwahati.
The competition is conducted at the state level, followed by regional level and would culminate at the national level during the National Science Drama Festival (NSDF), which is organised and managed by the National Council of Science Museums.
The Nagaland ASDC was sponsored and organised by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Nagaland.
