GBs, ENPO welcome parallel Indo-Naga political talks

Dimapur, Sep. 28 (EMN): The Nagaland GBs Federation as well as the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO), in separate statements, has lauded the central government’s decision ‘to invite’ the working committee of 6 NNPGs hold talks.
“Nagaland GB Federation would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the government of India under the dynamic Leadership of Narendra Modi for inviting the working committee of the 6 NNPGs for talk in responding to our plea for inclusion of all groups in the ongoing talk for the permanent peace settlement. We are equally grateful to RN Ravi for his conviction and seriousness in his effort to solve the decades old Naga’s issue, the NGBF also very grateful for his (sic) hospitality and generosity shown to the Gaonburas while meeting prime minister in New Delhi on 3rd August.
It appealed the government of India (GOI) and the NSCN (K) “to refrain from arms (sic) encounter or killing each other’s (sic) at this crucial period.”
It is also worth appreciating to the 6 NNPGs for coming together in the form of working committee, it stated. “The NGBF further express gratitude to the government of Nagaland for facilitating to the ongoing Naga talk in a serious manner.”
In another statement, the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization announced it was ‘more than encouraged at the initiative of the government of India in its honourable decision in inviting the 6 NNPGs’, and termed it as a ground-breaking initiative.
“The ENPO is hopeful that this forward looking peace process will contribute and accelerate towards bringing a meaningful dialogue and a lasting solution acceptable to all stakeholders. In the light of the above, the ENPO continues to sincerely and equally appeal to the remaining Naga political groups for participation in the honourable peace process between the GoI and the Naga political groups.”
