GAPYO CC (Green) to play Royal Strikers in finals

Wokha, Jan. 5: The Royal Strikers are set to play GAPYO CC (Green) in the finals after defeating Kohima Hornbill CC in a thrilling last leg of the semi final league by 22 runs in the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge at Wokha on Friday.
Royal Strikers CC won the toss and elected to bat first making a score of 164 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Hemari managed to make half century in 42 Balls with 5 fours and a contribution of 26 runs not out from Montu with Jubin Doley 20 runs. .
Wickets for Kohima Hornbill CC came from Bargish with 3 wickets and Bicky, Kevi with Tapitu claimed 1 wickets each.
In the Second innings the Kohima Hornbill CC the fall of wickets were frequent with Bargish gathering 23 runs , Tali 22 Runs , Vikato 19 Runs, Tapitu 17 Runs, Probin 11 Runs and Bicky 10 Runs.
The hornbills were all out for 142 runs with a short of 22 of the target to win. A huge claim of wickets came from Sajid who took 4 Wickets, Roshan with 3 Wickets, Vicky and Jubin Claimed 1 wickets each for team Royal Strikers CC.
Hemari Teron of Royal Strikers CC was adjudged the Man of the Match after his massive contribution with his willow making 50 Runs facing his 42 balls.
In a do or die match between the two teams who had both won a match each in the semi final league it was the Royal Strikers that could notch up the 6 points in the league to enter the finals.
Earlier in the day, the other semi final league match was played between GAPYO CC (Green) and Renegades was more of academics since GAPYO CC (Green) had already secured a place in the finals.
The Renegades won the match by 5 wickets in 14. 1 overs, but with its earlier two loses in the league it was unable to enter the finals with just 3 points.
Sunil Sharma of Renegades Was adjudged the man of the match after claiming 4 Wickets and scored 8 Runs not out for the team.
The finals of the Winter Cricket Challenge will be played on Saturday, January 7 between GAPYO CC (Green) and Royal Strikers CC.
