Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): A six-day tournament, the “Futsal Carnival” organised by Barak Football Club (BFC) kick started on Monday, July 10 at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Jalukie with T. Lankonsen Tsanglao, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Jalukie Town as the chief guest.
The opening ceremony commenced with invocation prayer by Albert N Hau, youth pastor, Jalukie Town Baptist Church.
The chief guest in his short speech urged parents to encourage their children to participate in football camps/tournaments and any other co-curricular activities by identifying their skills and allowing them to pursue it into a professional career.
Tsanglao later declared the tournament open.
Altogether 38 teams are participating in the tournament, organised by BFC Management to encourage young footballers from the state to explore and enhance their skills and take it to a professional level. The tournament will conclude on July 15.
