Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has called a mass public walkathon in all the administrative headquarters in eastern Nagaland as the first phase of agitation towards the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation’s (ENPO) demand of separate statehood.

Following an emergency federal assembly session at Anatongre village under Shamator district on Tuesday, ENSF resolved to hold the walkathon on Oct.7, and urged the seven federating units of ENSF to amalgamate village-level clusters in respective tribal jurisdictions to embark on the movement.

It said that the background and the genesis of the ‘Frontier Nagaland’ statehood demand will be expounded in respective tribal vernacular languages.

Further, it stated that stringent action would be taken against any organisation or individual who tries to ‘jeopardise the ultimate aspiration for Frontier Nagaland’.

The programme witnessed a short speech from Hawang T Wangsha, former president of ENSF, wherein he enlightened the chronology of the demand for Frontier Nagaland and encouraged the federation to remain steadfast in pursuit of the August 26  ENPO resolution.

President of ENSF, Chingmak Kumchuba Chang, in his presidential address, acknowledged the seven federating units (CWS, KSU Konyak, KSU Khiamniungan, PSC, TSU, and USSC and YAA) for their consistent support and urged to implement the adopted resolutions.
