DIMAPUR — A land dispute between Lamhainamdi and Kiyevi villages has led to heightened tensions, with the burning of a vehicle and a motorbike belonging to Kiyevi villagers at Lamhainamdi Block-5 on Tuesday.
Following the incident, the State Commissioner has requested the Home Commissioner to deploy additional security forces to Lamhainamdi and Kiyevi villages to maintain peace and order. The Commissioner’s letter, citing reports of tension and gatherings from both sides, requested the authorities to immediately increase security presence to contain the situation.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has requested the Kiyevi Village Council to provide their village council hall or any other available building as accommodation for Indian Reserve (IR) personnel.
