Mokokchung, June 3 (EMN): The Mokokchung district administration and police have initiated free ambulance services for Covid-19 related uses in Mokokchung. The ambulance would provide free services to the needy patients for transportation from home to Covid-19 hospital.
It would also cater to the needs of those who wish to be transported from the Covid-19 hospital/ Covid Care Centre to home or those high risk contacts needing to travel to the testing centres.
The nodal officer and SDO (Civil) Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum, stated that Mokokchung has witnessed Covid-19 casualty because many patients often stay at home with Covid-19 symptoms while some poor patients could afford to hire vehicles to go to the hospital.
He urged upon the citizens in the district to contact Covid-19 helpline numbers or seek medical support if they witness Covid-19 symptoms at home.
Meanwhile, he has expressed gratitude to the SP of Mokokchung, Vishal, for providing logistic support to the initiative. He also thanked Moamongba of Christian Crossroad Ministry Mokokchung for volunteering to lead the ambulance service.
The free ambulance service would be limited to Mokokchung municipal and other adjoining areas. All concerned are asked to contact the helpline number 9362561926 for necessary information.
