Four Nagaland MMA fighters represent India at GAMMA championship

Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): Four mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters from Nagaland represented India at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) World championship, which commenced on March 23 in Sporthallen Zuid, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The GAMMA world championship will conclude on March 27.
Mairidin Newmai from Combat Academy Nagaland in Dimapur told Eastern Mirror that Avizo Lanamai competed in the 70 kg elite MMA category, Arsenba Ozukum in 56.8 kg striking MMA category, Limasunep Imchen in 61.2 kg elite MMA category and Longtsukumba Ao in 65.8 kg elite MMA category.
Newmai informed that out of the four Naga athletes, only Longtsukumba Ao in the 65.8 kg elite MMA category advanced to the final round. All together, 33 fighters are representing India at the GAMMA World Championship 2021.
The German capital Berlin was supposed to host the GAMMA world championships in December 2021, but due to the Covid-19 rules, the event was postponed and ultimately moved to the Netherlands.
