Dimapur, May 23 (EMN):
Close on the heels of Naga People’s Front (NPF) Dimapur II A/C unit opposing the use of the party’s nomenclature by its former colleagues at a meeting on May 21, the unit’s former vice president Sakho Angami clarified that they were members of the party then, till they dissociated and joined NDPP after the meeting.

Angami said at a press conference on Monday that the May 21 consultative meeting was organised by NPF office bearers, who were still members of the party and not by MLA Moatoshi Longkumer.

Former NPF Dimapur II A/C advisor Limawati Imchen said that a meeting was scheduled for party functionaries on May 21 but the unit’s president issued a letter to MLA Moatoshi Longkumer on May 20 evening, stating that the meeting was illegal. The party functionaries then organised the consultative meeting, he said, adding that serving letter to the MLA was a wrong approach.

Former Women Wing President of Dimapur II A/C, Kerei Pfukha also said that all the women who attended the meeting on May 21 were bonafide NPF members until that day and not from SHG groups, as claimed by the NPF Dimapur Division. She added that the venue would be insufficient if members from more than 300 SHG groups attended the meeting.

It may be mentioned that NPF Dimapur-II Assembly Constituency unit on Sunday questioned the usage of NPF office nomenclature during a meeting of the former party functionaries and  supporters of the sitting Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) MLA Moatoshi Longkumer at Sakus Mission College Auditorium on May 21.
