Foodies in Delhi pop taste buds at Naga food festival

Dimapur, August 29 (EMN): A festival highlighting Naga food was held at New Delhi at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan on August 27.

The event for foodies was inaugurated by Minister for Environment, Neiba Kronu. Narottam Mishra, Minister for Water Resources, Public Relations of the government of Madhya Pradesh and Rameshwar Sharma, legislator from Bhopal were at the programme too. Senior officers from the government of India and the state government of Madhya Pradesh were also present.

There was also heavy rush at Naga Food Festival at Manipur Bhavan, according to DIPR updates on Monday. Resident Commissioner of Manipur Vinit Joshi and guests from Manipur, Nagaland and from Delhi were at the event to relish the dishes served to them.

Nagaland House of Delhi organised the Naga Food Festival at the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan and Manipur Bhawan on August 26 and 27. This was a part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative under which different Bhawans are hosting cuisines of other Bhawans.

On August 19, the cuisine of Madhya Pradesh was served at the Nagaland House in Delhi. The cuisine of Manipur will be served at the Nagaland House in Delhi on September 4.

As per response received on the Facebook page of Nagaland House Delhi, there is a buzz in Delhi about the Naga Food Festival events in Madhya Pradesh Bhawan and Manipur Bhawan on the August 26 and 27. Many are expected to come and relish the authentic, organic and exotic dishes being specially created for this occasion. The exotic buffet menu has been reasonably priced at Rs. 500 only per person.

Nagaland House Delhi has extended gratitude to the Horticulture department, government of Nagaland, for ensuring that organic and fresh fruits and vegetables are made available for the occasion.

This initiative is a one-of-its-kind attempt to expose residents of Delhi to the cuisine of Nagaland. In future, the Delhi Nagaland House will be organizing many more events that would include food festivals along with music and culture of the state, the DIPR added.
