Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): A storehouse of a construction firm ‘Ace Construction’ engaged in the construction of helipad road at Yikhum village in Wokha district was destroyed in a devastating fire which broke out on May 8 at around 5:30 am.
Officer-in-charge of Fire Station, Wokha, Keleseho confirmed that a store house belonging to Ace Construction firm was destroyed in the fire. He informed that on receiving the report, a quick response team with sufficient personnel and equipment was pressed into service to douse the fire.
Keleseho also stated that the team has used AFFF foam chemical as it is more effective to douse the fire when caused by lubricant oil compared to water. He added that properties worth around INR 20 lakh were destroyed in the fire. He also stated that the timely action of the quick response team could bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to surrounding areas and also save properties worth around INR 80 lakh.
According to the OC, the cause of the fire was suspected to be from an electrical short circuit. No casualties were reported.
