DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) issued a statement condemning the “heinous crime” involving the murder of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou on May 18 in Kohima and expressed deep disturbance, sadness, and shock regarding the incident.

It said that the two accused are active wrestlers, namely Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie, both of whom are from Kohima Village under its unit, the Angami Sports Association.

Stating that the wrestling fraternity is aggrieved and that it unequivocally condemns such acts of barbarism and ruthlessness, the association said that such actions, which have no place in today’s world, should be condemned by all.

At the same time, NWA requested and appealed to the law enforcement agency for prompt delivery of appropriate justice.

Further, the NWA extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the soul of the deceased rest in eternal peace.

It further appealed to government agencies to boldly and diligently carry out their responsibilities so that the trust of the masses in the judiciary is not shaken.
