DIMAPUR — ATMA Ghathashi block (Zunheboto) held a training and demonstration on integrated pest management (IPM) at Khughutomi village on Friday. ATM Kerilhoulie Rulu was the event’s resource person.

The event was held with the objectives of educating farmers on the principles and different components of IPM, integrated pest management of farm crops, the use of chemical pesticides in IPM biological control, and modules of IPM in different field crops with reference to Nagaland, according to a DIPR report.

In two more demonstrations on line sowing of okra, he emphasised the benefits of nursery bed preparation, the selection of a good variety of disease-free seeds, and the significance of line sowing.

Altogether, eight SHGs and progressive farmers benefited from the programme.

Seeds of okra, coriander, tomatoes, and manure were distributed to the farmers during the programme, which ended with an interaction session.
