NFHRCC urges govt. for prompt execution of Foothills Road construction
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Foothills Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the state government and the PWD (RB) to execute the Foothills Road construction immediately, reasoning that the working season is running out.
In a press release, the NFHRCC said that delay in execution of the “people’s project” will be a costly affair, which the committee will view it seriously.
Pointing out that after struggling for 11 years, the project had been finally roped in under SASCI (Special Assistance to State for Capital Investment) through the initiative of the state government as well the NFHRCC, the committee maintained that there is no reasons to delay the execution of the project.
The NFHRCC also reminded that it had made it very clear that if the government or department concerned face any problem from any person, union or organisation during the execution of the project, the committee is well prepared to handle problems of any magnitude as far as the historic project is concerned.
Keeping in view the facts and circumstances, the committee appealed to the government and the department concerned to immediately start the project which, it said, the Nagas have been yearning for more than six decades.
“Merry making should not surpass the developmental activities which are very crucial for all round economic development of the state,” the committee said.
