EVS conducts health screening camp in Kiphire
DIMAPUR — The Evergreen Welfare Society (EVS), through its Link Worker Scheme, conducted an advocacy, mid-media activity, and health screening camp on July 23 at the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Sitimi town, Kiphire.
Speaking on the occasion, A Shikali, zonal supervisor of the scheme, presented key facts about HIV/AIDS and covered critical topics, according to a press release.
The topics included the importance of testing and treatment, information and explanation of HIV/AIDS, social benefits shared with the villages, the impact on pregnant women and unborn children, and ways of transmission and prevention.
Following the informative session, cluster link workers and volunteers conducted a short role play to illustrate the significance of HIV/AIDS awareness and the importance of testing centres.
The programme ended with health screening activities, ensuring that community members received the necessary medical attention and advice.
