Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) on Friday announced that the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) for this year has officially been cancelled.

E3 is considered to be one of the biggest events for the video game industry and this year’s event was supposed to be a digital event after the physical event was cancelled back in January.

Last year, E3 2021 was held as an online-only event due to Covid-19. At the time, the ESA said they “[looked] forward to coming back together to celebrate E3 2022 in person.”

“We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer,” the organisation said in a statement. “Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favorite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience.”

The ESA, however, also confirmed that E3 2023 will be held in Los Angeles. “E3 will return in 2023 with a reinvigorated showcase that celebrates new and exciting video games and industry innovations,” the organisation added.
