EROs of Tseminyu, Mokokchung, Mon notify on special summary revision

DIMAPUR — Administrator and electoral registration officer (ERO) of Tseminyu Town Council, Longasen Lotha, has notified that a special summary revision (SSR) of the electoral roll will be conducted, with January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.

According to a DIPR report, Longasen further informed that the draft publication of the electoral roll will be on March 8. The period for lodging claims and objections will be from March 11 to March 20, with the period for disposal of claims and objections being from March 21 to March 27.

The period for filing an appeal to the appellate authority is from March 28 to April 3, with the disposal of claims and objections by the appellate authority scheduled for April 4 to April 6.

The preparation of the list of amendments after the decision of the appellate authority will take place from April 8 to April 10, and the final publication of the electoral roll is set for April 12.

For the SSR of the electoral roll of Tseminyu Town Council, the electoral roll as finally published on November 24, 2022, under the now repealed Nagaland Municipal Act 2021 will be taken as the basis for draft publication purposes.

It further maintained that no enumerator, supervisor, sector magistrate, etc., will be appointed during the ensuing SSR. Instead, the applicant, individual, claimant, and objector need to directly apply to the ERO for inclusion, deletion, correction of particulars, etc.

The required forms for claims and objections will be made available in the office of the administrator and ERO, Tseminyu Town Council, after the draft publication of the electoral roll.

Administrator and ERO, Chumlamo Humtsoe of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), also notified about a similar schedule and maintained that SSR of the electoral roll for MMC will be taken up with reference to January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.

It was stated that no enumerators, supervisors, sector magistrates, etc., will be appointed for the conduct of the special summary revision. Concerned individual claimants/objectors need to apply directly to the Sadar Branch, 2nd floor office of the deputy commissioner for inclusion, deletion, etc.

Administrator and ERO of the Mon Town Council also informed all concerned of a similar schedule and stages, with the draft publication of the electoral roll on March 8 and the final publication of the electoral roll on April 12.

It was noted that the required forms for claims and objections will be made available in the office of the administrator and ERO, Mon Town Council, after the draft publication of the electoral roll.
