Entry of tourists banned in few villages

Kohima, March 19 (EMN): To prevent and control the
spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the Eco Tourism Board of Fakim and
Thanamir village along with the village councils have decided to temporarily
suspend the entry of all tourist s — domestic, international and local —
within its jurisdiction with effect from March 20 till further notice.
This was stated in a joint press release issued by Hanruthong, chairman of Fakim Village Council; Tsumongthong, chairman of Fakim Eco Tourism Board; Tsechimong, chairman of Thanamir Village Council; and Tseseki, chairman of Thanamir Eco Tourism Board.
“We seek the kind cooperation of all concerned individuals and travellers. The inconvenience is deeply regretted and we look forward to welcoming visitors when it is safe for everyone to travel,” the joint statement said.
In a related statement, chairman of Dzüleke village council Vitsipielie and chairman of Dzüleke Eco Tourism Board Avi Khate informed that entry of foreign and domestic tourists would be temporarily suspended with effect from March 20 till further notice.
Meanwhile, the Eco Tourism Management Committee (ETMC) of Khonoma village in Kohima district, together with the village council Khonoma (VCK), has decided to temporarily suspend visit/ entry of all international tourists within its jurisdiction with effect from March 12 till further notice.
ETMC secretary Kevichülie Meyase and chairman Neikedolie Hiekha have sought cooperation from all concerned individuals, travellers, travel agencies etc.
