Dimapur, Nov. 28 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has condemned the November 18 incident at Thongtso village in which some houses were burnt down, while one was seriously injured and another killed by some miscreants.
“Such kind of incident show a new low to which our society has plunged and also cannot be accepted this kind of incident in this modern and civilized society so also does such kind of violence do not have any place in this civilized society,” an update from ENSF vice president Hamnyei Angh and the assistant general secretary Kumcho Khiungpuh stated in a joint statement.
The federation called upon the investigating agency to immediately book the culprits at the earliest and award befitting punishment as per the law without delay and deliver justice at the earliest.
The federation also reaffirmed its support to the standing resolution of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) wherein any disputes, misunderstanding within the Eastern Nagaland people should be localised within the party involved and to resolve within the concerned group through peaceful dialogue.
As Eastern Nagaland was declared peace-zone through December 18, 2007, resolution by the ENPO and to maintain peace and tranquillity, the federation urged everyone to respect and uphold the resolution.
